Intellectual Property Rights are the rights given to persons over the creations of their minds.  They usually give the creator an exclusive right over the use of his/her creation for certain period of time.

There are two types of Intellectual Property:

(i)  Industrial Property which includes Patents for inventions, individual designs, trademarks and                 geographical indications

Patent is an exclusive rights granted to an invention.

Trademark is a sign capable of being represented graphically and which is capable of distinguishing goods or services of one undertaking from those of another undertaking.

Geographical indications possess quality, reputation or characteristics that are essentially attributable to that place of origin.

Copyright or author's right is a legal term used to describe the rights that creators have in their literary, artistic and scientific works.

The other topic discussed was Creative Commons. Six core CC license combinations were also discussed.
